The Liverpool Scene, Ian Broudie
Liverpool's answer to Woody Allen

Lightning Seeds founder - the ever prolific - Ian Broudie played guitar in Liverpool bands like "Big In Japan" and "Original Mirrors" (during his teens.)
He made his name however in the "grown-up" music business producing artists like Echo and the Bunnymen, Icicle Works, and the Fall.
Chris Sharrock (below, far left) original drummer with the Icicle Works, later joined Broudie as the Lightning Seed's "resident drummer."

He collaborated with Wild Swans singer Paul Simpson under the moniker "Care", releasing several singles, but never quite making it to an album release.

The Lightning Seeds are essentially a one-man band, with Broudie recruiting help when he needs it. Broudie's talents seem to bear the best fruit when he's collaborating, and this was never more obvious than his early 1992 effort "Sense" with Terry Hall (of Specials fame.)
