Sharp lad, apart from being a devoted "Gary Numan" fan, also had a tendency to wear really bad "futuristic" shirts.
They were very angular in design, utilizing bright primary colors, hence earning him the dubious accolade of being "sharp".
However, Gaz and Dez did not think his image fitted the "harsh urban reality" of Europes' sound, so they often "doctored" his outfits using early, primitive photographic means (very pre - Photoshop !)
On the above shot - the terrible "Numanesque pyramid"
was removed from his shirt - but we decided to put it back for the purposes of this tribute !
Another member who often fell victim to Dez and Berg's
critical image awareness, was "quiet lad".
He showed up for this photo session, surprisingly and with great relief to Dez, without his usual anorak !
They still weren't that happy though, so they drew a cool looking pair of sun glasses on him, just to take the "quiet" edge off a bit - suggested Berg' !
The band continued their relentless mission playing as many venues as they could on the Merseyside circuit.
The above shot was taken at the now defunct "Venue" club in Liverpool.
It was during this time, they recorded their first demo,
"Picked to the Bone"
at Pink Studios in Allerton, home of the early recordings by the
"Teardrop Explodes"
This extremely rare and magnificent recording can actually be played right within the following page, and it is our intention for subsequent later tracks from the band to be available soon.
So keep watching this space dear net cruiser,
and your patience will be rewarded.
